The Thrilling Life: November: Faith, Love & Gratitude

The Thrilling Life

Faith • Relationships • Purpose • Real Life

A Note from Dr. Victorya:

November always reminds me of how much we have to be thankful for--even when life doesn't look quite the way we imagined. With Thanksgiving approaching and Christmas just around the corner, I've been thinking about the people we love, the relationships we long for, and the opportunities God gives us to encourage others.

This month, we're talking about finding love without settling, sharing our faith with those around us, and discovering gratitude even in life's difficult seasons. My prayer is that something you read today will encourage your heart and remind you that God is at work in your life, right here and right now.

I'm so glad you're here!

Let's Talk Relationships

Single for the Holidays? Don't Settle!

The holidays can make being single especially difficult. But loneliness is never a reason to settle for the wrong relationship. Here's what I learned after 100 dates.

How to Share Your Faith During the Holidays

The holidays open doors for meaningful conversations about faith. But how do you talk about Jesus naturally without making anyone uncomfortable? Here are a few simple ways to share God's love with confidence and kindness.

Finding Gratitude in Difficult Seasons

It's easy to thank God when life is going well. But what about when prayers seem unanswered and life looks nothing like you imagined? Discover how gratitude can transform your perspective, even in life's hardest seasons.

Until Next Time…

As we enter this season of Thanksgiving, I hope you'll remember that a thrilling life isn't necessarily a perfect life. It's a life where we keep growing, loving, trusting God, and embracing the opportunities He places before us.

Whether you're waiting for love, looking for ways to encourage someone, or learning to be grateful in a difficult season, remember that God is at work in your story—even when you can't see what He's doing.

I'm so thankful you're here and that we get to share this journey together. May your Thanksgiving be filled with love, laughter, and reminders of God's goodness.

With love,

How to Talk About Jesus without Freaking Out

Sometimes the very person who relentlessly teases you about your faith is the one quietly searching for God. That’s when teasing Is clearly not the whole story. When my coauthor Karen Covell mentioned that she couldn't schedule a rehearsal on Bible study night, a singer named Pendleton began teasing her about her "nun practice." The jokes embarrassed her enough that she wanted to keep her faith to herself at work. Later, Pendleton called. He wanted to talk about that very Bible study. His...

Victorya travels with friends during her single years

What have you been putting off until life looks the way you hoped it would? During my single years, I could have waited for a husband before enjoying anything. Instead, two girlfriends and I started making plans. We hiked, visited local attractions, and saved for trips so that once a year we could travel internationally while I was still single. I even purchased my first home—a condo—while I was single. I still wanted to get married. But I was also tired of waiting for my dreams, so I decided...
